Basis of the edition

The present edition is based on the photographs available at the Mainzer Photoarchiv of the Hethitologie Portal Mainz, as well as the available hand-copies and relevant secondary literature up to 2019. When the original manuscripts have been collated, this is noted in the commentary.

Commentary

Edited based on the hand copy only.

The fragment refers to the town of Tašimuwa and preserves descriptions of cult images and of seasonal festivals. The town is localized between Ḫanḫana and Ḫattena (Kryszeń 2016: 182-84). The text treats among other deities the goddess Zaḫpuna, which fits very well with this geographical setting. KBo 57.114 and KBo 61.87 may join indirectly (ibidem).

iii 6′: Cf. e.g. KBo 2.7 obv. 7′.

iii 9′: Note the unusual formulation in the reference to the construction of a cult image of a mountain god shaped as a mace.
